Bologna and flea markets, all the addresses to find vintage pieces for a few euros, here's how to find them and where to find the coolest clothes at mini prices in Emilia Romagna. Addresses and directions on where to find the best prices at unbeatable prices in Bologna.
In Bologna Vintage has a long tradition, except that sometimes it can seem disorganized, messy. So here is a brief guide to vintage low and less low cost in the beautiful Emilian capital. I will start from the most established stores to reach the most unexpected markets.
Best Vintage and Second Hand stores in Bologna
Friperie:
The name derives from the characteristics of Parisian second-hand clothing boutiques, but this is the Bolognese version in the center. Among the stores, this is the most beautiful for me, although I discovered it recently. Inside you can find dresses, skirts, pants, blouses, jackets and accessories from another era. of a time. It is the ideal place to find a garment that will make you feel unique at a very honest price. Very good quality.
Location: Via San Vitale 49 / A.
Dodidi vintage:
Just outside the walls, this is not only a store, but you can also bring your used clothing and accessories here. You'll find vintage clothing, used but also something more contemporary, and lots of accessories.
Location: Via Andrea Costa 121 / A.
Deja vu:
Let's go back downtown, to a store that looks like a salon full of handbags, accessories and clothing. Here the designer bags are the protagonists so the price goes up a bit.
Location: Via Castiglione 11 / B.
La leonarda:
Small and a bit hidden is La Leonarda, a store where you can bring your used and where everything gets a second chance. Low prices.
Location: Via San Leonardo 2/2.
Balevin Vintage:
Here it seems to enter a real vintage atelier, where you can find a small Chanel, a small Moschino, a small Hermes and so on. Almost a museum. Medium / high prices.
Location: Via Rialto 1 / B.
Best Second Hand and Vintage Markets in Bologna
Vintage Market in Piazza Puntoni.
Once in Piazza Verdi, it is a market of clothing and accessories ideal for lovers of the outdoors. You will find bags that you would have liked to steal from your grandmother, lots of jewelry and accessories, hats but also clothes. This market takes place every Tuesday from 9 am to 4 pm, usually from March-June to September-December.
Antiques market in Piazza Santo Stefano.
This is the ideal place for lovers of vintage and antiques at 360 °, in fact here you will find more antiques, furniture and furnishings than clothing and accessories. However, it is worth coming to see the selection of vintage sunglasses, costume jewelry and clothing and accessories that you will find scattered here and there, between a chair and a closet. The market takes place every second Sunday of the month, except January, July and August.
Flea Market in Piazza IIX August
And finally there is, a bit my favorite, I must admit, the market that takes place in Piazza VIII Agosto and adjacent, called La Piazzola (the lower part) and La Montagnola (the upper part that rises towards the park), every Friday and Saturday of the week. This market is not a market dedicated to Vintage but, perhaps for that reason, is where you can find the most unexpected opportunities, you just have to poke around a bit. So, if you like clothes that are already ironed and placed on hangers, this is not the place for you. Here you'll find piles of dresses, skirts, silk blouses and so on. You'll find junk mixed with Miu Miu garments, H&M pieces and Tyrolean clothing. Patience and a passion for research should be your mantra here.
Here are some tips for finding vintage clothing, as a good portion of the market is devoted to shoddy and decidedly cheap-to-the-eye contemporary clothing, and the other half to shoes and clothing of average, or even good, quality, but however contemporary.
The Montagnola is the most historically dedicated to vintage, you will find a wide selection of hats, sweaters, shirts but also evening dresses from the 80s and wedding gifts for 10-20 €. But the best and most unexpected goodies I found in those stalls that are arranged in the square along Via Irnerio (Montagnola side), where you will see lots of reports. all for 2,3 € or 5 € and in some stalls scattered in the central part of the Piazzola and that you will recognize by the piles of clothes mentioned above with a "grandmother" air. Look closely, a Max Mara dress, a Ralph Lauren skirt, a Marella coat, a Moschino jeans might appear. All the things I found, for less than 5 € each. Obviously here you will have to wash and iron everything to return the garments to their former splendor.
Finally, keep an eye on the group, also on its Facebook page. Reuse with love, association that organizes, a few times a year, beautiful Vintage and second-hand flea markets and also for charity, in particular in the gardens of the Baraccano but also in other spaces.
