Borbonika offers all dishes of Neapolitan cuisine, including some seafood dishes. The menu, however, is mainly of land. Among the appetizers worthy of note are the meatballs with canestrello and the peppered mussels, very good. Among the former, however, it is really difficult to choose.
An award for its delicacy and at the same time digestibility, despite the fact that one would not say it from the ingredients, must be given to Genoese. Definitely one of the classics of the Neapolitan tradition, with a long and intense cooking.
La genevose of Borbonika it is something exceptional and unforgettable, strictly served with ziti, you almost want to do an encore once you finish the dish. Do not forget other first courses, also very tasty, such as macaroni alla scarpariello, simple but genuine and pasta and potatoes with provolone and porcini, a true poem. As main courses, the sausage of the Bourbons or the trio of meat with meat sauce, complete the meal worthily. Perhaps, accompanied by a portion of friarielli, Cherry on the cake.
And speaking of cake, i desserts, of course they are all linked to the Neapolitan tradition with some variations, such as cheesecake. If you prefer something light, a tirababà is perfect otherwise, you can choose a lemon delight or a slice of ricotta and pear cake.
To accompany the meal you can choose the wine which is preferred within a wine list, fairly well-stocked and with more than affordable prices. In the Borbonika cellar there is no shortage of great Campania classics such as Greco di Tufo or Falanghina. Even among the liqueurs, to accompany desserts, there is a wide choice.
A meal at Borbonika: the excellent value for money
And now the surprise. With a full menu or almost based on land dishes, accompanied by a good bottle of wine, the price is interesting. we are talking about no more than € 35 each. A price that falls below € 30 if you opt, for example, for a glass of wine or divide a few dishes among the diners. It should also be noted that the portions are far from small.
The dishes are well presented, cared for and never left to chance. The staff are courteous and helpful. The local, nice and welcoming, is organized on two floors. You enter from the street level, from a small entrance that you almost have to pay attention to. Downstairs opens the restaurant with all the seats and the kitchen. The only negative note is that, due to the presence of a somewhat narrow staircase, access is not easy for those with a wheelchair.
That said, a stop at Borbonika for lunch or dinner is super recommended. The tip, if you happen to be there especially on weekends, is in any case of book.
