The capital of the Denmark, Copenhagen: lively, full of life and beautiful people! During the long summer days, people flock to the streets and populate the city cafes, mixed with the many tourists. Since we are in a constitutional monarchy there is a royal family, very easy, in the Scandinavian way. In the neighborhood Frederiksstaden Amalienborg Slot is located, the royal palace. They are actually four Rococo-style buildings that face each other to form a circle.
A picturesque changing of the guard takes place in front of it and there is a museum inside the royal palace, which, I confess, I have not visited. Not far from there, in this area which is the political heart of the nation, on a street called Bredgade, there is a place that I absolutely recommend.
The sign is ancient and the cafe-restaurant as well, in fact the Café Petersborg it was founded in the mid-eighteenth century. The name derives from the fact that it was once the seat of the Russian consulate. On the ground there is a beautiful wooden floor, well laid tables and a nice atmosphere. It is popular with the people who work here and has also hosted prominent politicians. This is why I found him attractive and at the same time he aroused a little fear. But since it is a place faithful to the Danish tradition, I went in and I did well!
I ate the wonderful Smorrebrod, national dish. What do you mean? Literally buttered bread but it doesn't give the idea. The basis is buttered bread, but on top of it they put all good things. Shrimp, eggs, herring, trout, salmon, ham, meatballs, vegetables, whatever you want. The choice of smorrebrods is endless. At Cafè Petersborg they have 36 different types on the menu, where the type of bread and the filling changes. Prices? From 55 to 90 Danish kroner, it varies between 6 and 10 euros.
