I start by saying that yes, Copenhagen is very expensive, but this for sure you already know if you have decided to choose this destination as the next location of a family trip. Initially my idea was to find a hotel as close to the center as possible, to post on foot without taking too many means.

After trying for some time an economic solution, without success, I decided to turn to Airbnb. I must say first of all that the weekend I went to Copenhagen, the same weekend, there was a very important tourism fair and you couldn't find half the rooms. The only ones available were something like 500 € per night, a little too much.

I searched for a accommodation on Airbnb therefore, putting an entire apartment as the only request, since in two with a child it would have been better for everyone to have their own space. Just as I did for the trip to the Big Apple when I found a New York apartment with Airbnb, but this time I shared and I had a great time, also this time I wanted to try and… I was not at all disappointed.

The area where I found our apartment is Østerbro, a neighborhood that is two train stops from Copenhagen Central Station, so it takes approx 10 minutes exactly to get to Nordhavn station and from there exactly 5 minutes on foot to get to the house - ah to get toairport there is a direct train which takes about 30 minutes and the means in Denmark go all night!

I must say that I found myself very well. The house is of Agnieszka, a architect who lives and works in Copenhagen and who has a delightful, small but very well-kept house and who probably loves good food, to say the impressive number of cookery books and spices on the shelves near the fridge. We slept at Agnieszka's house for three nights and felt right at home.

The apartment is located in a very quiet neighborhood, there are several supermarkets, and if you plan to go shopping to eat at least in the evening at home as we did, I recommend Net, the cheapest. Also at the end of the street is a very nice wooden bar with coffee and sweets for breakfast. Between us, we went there only once because in any case we paid for two cappuccinos and two sweets the beauty of € 18, water is excluded, as in America it is possible to take as much water as you want once you order.

The strengths of the apartment compared to the hotel is that, if you are traveling with your family, you can cooking in the evening or having a leisurely breakfast in the morning is a real luxury. Another strong point is that it feels a bit like home, the sofa, the TV (in Danish), the spaces and the stoves give a feeling of family life that I really like, yes even if I am traveling.
Points to the disadvantage, as always in every apartment no one will make your bed or put one in the bathroom, also here I saw that there are not many elevators in the apartments, indeed. Everyone leaves prams and pushchairs at the entrance of buildings, it's a common practice and so did we, obviously I'm not even saying that they didn't take anything away from us, right?

Ah, lastly, there are still the bins on the floor. This means that if you cook in the evening and want to throw out the garbage immediately, you can get to the apartment floor, go out the front door and find the bin to take out the garbage! Beautiful!
