It is often a problem to find a hotel in large cities that does not belong to famous international hotel chains where the quality is certainly high, but the prices are no less. I recently went to Milan and I looked for a hotel in the Central Station area, a strategic position to get to almost everywhere. So I tracked down the Club Hotel in Via Niccolò Copernico n. 18.
Club Hotel in Milan, what to expect
It is a three star hotel about 100 meters from the Central Station. Practically located between two metro stops: Central Station and Sondrio (yellow line) where I found myself really well. The hotel is only 15 minutes by metro from the Rho Fiera Milano and Milan Expo Area exhibition centers. The staff at the reception are friendly and provide you with all the information you need to get around the city in the best possible way. It also provides a valuable service for the sale of tickets for buses to the airports of the city, being an authorized dealer. On request, it is also possible to book tickets for the city's museums and exhibitions and even for the San Siro stadium and the Teatro alla Scala. In short, a truly efficient and complete service.
The breakfast
La breakfast is included in the price and it is really an excellent breakfast, complete with both sweet and savory aspects… in short, a breakfast worthy of an excellent three-star hotel.
The rooms are single, double but also triple and quadruple. My triple had excellent soundproofing and while not very large it really had everything. A minibar, air conditioning / heating, private bathroom with shower and even hairdryer: essential element for those who never have enough space in their suitcase. In addition, the rooms are equipped with flat screen television and wi-fi connection included in the price.
Le common areas they are welcoming and very clean, as are the rooms. The hotel is also equipped with vending machines which according to my personal experience are really a quid pluris in a hotel. In fact, if you come back late or don't want to go out to buy that chocolate bar to appease your nightly peckish, the vending machine is a really good alternative.
A low cost hotel
The costs of the rooms are really affordable and considering that I was there on a Saturday, in the middle of fashion week, I can only recommend this small hotel. Even the location, although close to the Central Station, is excellent as well as safe. Around it circulate trams for any direction and Duomo metro stop it can be reached in no time with the yellow line metro. You can therefore arrive at the Duomo - an unmissable stop when visiting Milan - with extreme simplicity. When visiting a city as big as Milan, the choice of accommodation is crucial, by choosing this structure you will certainly not waste your time frantically searching for the right bus to reach your destinations.
In short, a great little discovery that I am sure to repeat as soon as I have new reasons to go to the Lombard capital: all that is expected from a three-star hotel. I feel I can recommend and share my choice with you.
