In 1963 due to a landslide, Cracow, city of Basilicata, was evacuated and the town was forced to abandon their homes and moved downstream, in the locality of Craco Peschiera. At that time the center had over 2000 inhabitants.
Craco after this landslide remained intact, turning into a kind of ghost city, a rare if not unique case. It is possible to walk the streets, look inside the houses left just like then.
A curiosity, the city of Craco was one of the locations of the film The Passion. If you are around, drop by.
