I spent last weekend in the beautiful Trieste. And I let myself be taken to lunch in a very nice restaurant where I had already been and where, I remember well, we ate divinely. The restaurant is called Siora Rosa and is located in Piazza Hortis 3, in the heart of Trieste.
The hunger was there, so we opted for one summer lunch not really light but spectacular. I ordered an appetizer based on Cotto in bread crust with mustard and kren (try it) and a spectacular pork shank with baked potatoes. My friend instead ordered some great gigantic gnocchi that look like dumplings. After that, despite the belly being full, we indulged in a succulent Bavarian strawberry sauce, homemade of course. Very good. Very kind staff and above all the elderly gentleman who chat amiably with his guests recommending dishes and desserts. They also wanted to offer us a Limoncello, not bad.
The food is typical of Trieste and in this place it is also possible to try the famous buffets which include typical dishes based on pork and fish.
Price on € 20-25 per person. All served under the umbrellas of the outdoor terrace, in a beautiful square of the city. Highly recommended. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday, the remaining days are open all day from 8:00 to 21:30. For more information 040 301460.
