Rimini can offer several surprises, especially wandering around his Old Town. Sometimes the mix of culture and food just seems to go hand in hand. And this is how if you decide to go and visit in Ferrari square the archaeological site of the domus of the Greek surgeon Euthyches to admire the mosaics and the discoveries found during the excavations (open from Tuesday to Saturday 8.30-13.00, 16.00-19.00 and Sunday from 10.00-12.30, 15.00-19.00), it can happen for example of walk there next a few tens of meters through the alleys of the "castlaza" near the old hospital and come across an unmistakable sign: Magna Grecia.
To stay on the subject of "Greece", you will immediately think about your last trip to the land of Olympus gods or more simply ai typical foods such as mussaka (pie of meat, aubergine and bechamel), the suvlaki (meat skewers), la Feta (Greek cheese) and the many accompanying sauces. Do not try too hard to think of other dishes, you just need to cross the threshold of the only Greek restaurant in Rimini, the Magna Grecia, run by a Hellenic family.
The restaurant doesn't have many seats, but it also has one smoking room, and if you happen to be in town at the weekend it is always better to give a call. The offer on the menu is varied and with various solutions of unique dishes at reasonable costs to say the least. In our case we opted for one pita suvlaky (5 euros) - chicken skewer, Greek tzatziki sauce, potatoes and onion wrapped in pita (Greek bread) - and a single dish of keftedes, veal meatballs accompanied with potatoes, vegetables and beans (10 euros). Greek cuisine is definitely loaded, but absolutely pleasant and inexpensive. The restaurant is also welcoming, a stone's throw from the historic center, therefore Kali Orexì (enjoy your meal).
