The review of the place most loved by tourists and Florentines in the heart of Florence: the San Frediano district. Come and discover their rich menu!
Firenze, one of the most loved Tuscan cities by Italians and foreigners, is not only a very rich city of art, but it is also an excellent destination for all lovers of good food and excellent regional cuisine. Are you planning a trip here and are you a foodie? Or more simply you are looking for a place where you can try some typical dishes of Tuscan cuisine without spending a fortune? Here is our advice: I 'Brindellone restaurant.
I 'Brindellone, in the San Frediano district
Well, in Piazza Piattellina, a short distance from Ponte Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti, there is the restaurant I 'Brindellone, in the very picturesque district, full of clubs, trattorias and teeming with nightlife of San Frediano. Take the opportunity of your dinner or lunch here to explore the area as well as it is really worth it and you will have the opportunity to see one Florence different and out of the usual tourist routes. We got there thanks to a suggestion from friends, and I must say that it is often in this way that we discover the places we love the most.
The restaurant does not have many seats and I strongly suggest you book a few days in advance since it is always full; insist if you fail to take the line, it can happen! We were unable to book by phone, we tried the same to find a free table and only because a reservation was not presented we were able to take advantage and enjoy the place together with an excellent dinner. Do not make our mistake otherwise you risk not finding a place and being very disappointed.
Feeling at home in the center of Florence
With a rustic and homely flavor both in the furnishings and in the flavors, I 'Brindellone has a friendly and easy-going staff that will make you feel right at home. The noisy and lively atmosphere of the always full place, the comings and goings of the waiters as well as the tasty dishes and the fact of being a few steps from the main attractions of the center of Florence, have certainly contributed to making it one of the most popular trattorias both by Florentines and tourists.
What to taste
The menu boasts the best dishes of Tuscan cuisine starting from appetizers with dishes of mixed cold cuts accompanied by croutons or coccoli (savory pancakes). Among the first you can choose the classic ribollita stale bread soup with vegetables typical of the Florentine area, the tomato soup, the taglierini with truffles or opt for the dish of the day.
The second ones instead boast some respectable meat dishes, from Florentine trippa, the Overcooked At Fiorentina, and the most classic and loved Florentine steak.
A really low cost place
If the menu still hasn't convinced you, the prices will! With an average of € 6.00 / 7.00 for the first course, € 9.00 for the classic second courses and (excluding the Florentine) € 15.00 for the grilled second courses, you will certainly want to come back every evening.
