San Niccolò is a very characteristic district in Oltrarno (the left bank of Florence), which is now experiencing a new youth. There are many locals but also a lot of real life and residents, that's why I like to walk there, especially in this season.
From the door to San Miniato you go up towards the hill that is immediately behind the left bank, towards Piazzale Michelangelo. They are beautiful and already almost country roads. I recommend you to pass by, to see a different Florence and you can also stop to eat or drink a good glass at theFuoriporta wine shop, which also has an outdoor area with sidewalk tables.
It is a place that already has a certain history and where you can enjoy crostoni, first courses with seasonal vegetables, hamburgers, carpaccio, as well as delicious cheeses. The selection of wines is very accurate and can also be taken by the glass. The Enoteca is suitable for a quick lunch, an aperitif or an informal dinner.
