After a hot summer day, what could be more beautiful than putting your nose outside the house in the evening, when temperatures drop - a little but lower - to go and celebrateappetizer? A Firenze in the summer, new possibilities open up for this pleasant activity.
Arteculture
The number one proposal is that of Arteculture. The summer program of the Horticultural Garden provides for the presence only in summer of a refreshment point open all day. Lunch, snack, aperitif with music .. artecultura offers a varied program from day to day in the cool of this municipal park, in the background the magnificent iron and glass greenhouse by Giacomo Roster. The most original idea for young mothers is the Tuesday aperitif. Little ones are entertained with free workshops or play activities, while mothers relax with a drink.
Ditch Bandito
You have probably never been to Ditch Bandito. It is understandable, it has recently opened at the entrance to the Cascine Park. ? It is a new venue, one of the newest spaces in the city - outdoors but not only - right next to the New Opera House, built on the ashes of the Central Park nightclub. Fosso Bandito is a space open all day, equipped with a large terrace where coolness is guaranteed. From up there you can almost touch the Theater with your hand, you can see the Arno, you can see the green sea of the Cascine, the most beautiful park in Florence, where until now there were some kiosks of little interest. Fosso Bandito caters above all to Park-goers - sportsmen, mothers with children, why not, tourists, but due to its position it is a convenient stopping point before the performances at the Theater.
Peacocker
Also in the Cascine Park a valid proposal is that of Peacocker, the pool. It has already been talked about in a post dedicated to the beaches / swimming pools of the city and therefore I refer you there.
Definitely not to be missed in the summer in Florence are the terraces of the hotels that open to everyone in an initiative called Firenze Terrazza con vista. The idea behind it is not just the aperitif, but the view from above of Florence. This year it includes eighteen hotels, most of which have a bar, to have a drink and on some of these terraces the view is so beautiful that the aperitif is likely to be unforgettable ... I recommend the Grand Hotel Minerva, with sublime views on the church and piazza Santa Maria Novella and on the Duomo, or the new Plaza Lucchesi, on the Arno. Both also have a swimming pool. The advice, however, is to turn as many as possible, even if you will not drink every time: the views of the city from above are unprecedented, always allowing you to discover new perspectives and details to fall in love with.
The Rifrullo
Staying on the classic I can not give you information on San Niccolò, neighborhood on the left bank of the Arno, lively, full of clubs and at the foot of Forte Belvedere, now open to be visited. All the sidewalks are populated by tables of places where you can drink wine or other drinks and eat something tasty. An evergreen is The Rifrullo, a very popular place that has a secret garden on the back, completely close to the city walls. A gem, but finding a place is not easy and the price is a little above average (10 euros).
Speakeasy
And speaking of San Niccolò ... the latest born is a place in this street, so authentic: at number 23R you will find Speakeasy, a brewery run by 4 guys full of enthusiasm. Craft beers, wines and quality snacks for an easy aperitif.
