Have you ever been to Tivoli? It is a city that will surprise you with its ancient and inexhaustible beauty, in the post the tips to save on accommodation without sacrificing comfort and services.
A weekend, a few days a Tivoli: a proposal to fill up on beauty and art. The town a few kilometers from Rome is full of incredible places, known and visited. There Hadrian's Villa, primarily; the scenographic Villa d'Este with the garden and the countless fountains. And then the Sanctuary of Hercules Rocca Pia, the ancient village, the spa. I was very surprised by the beauty of Tivoli, even if the modern part is nothing special, the streets are busy and chaotic. However, I found a very interesting sleeping accommodation, a cheap and quality bed & breakfast formula: the B&B Villa Adriana.
The B&B Villa Adriana in Tivoli
B&B Villa Adriana is located in modern part of Tivoli, at the foot of that hill on which the ancient part of the city stands, but very close to the vast archaeological area where the villa extends. The B&B is located on the first floor of a building, occupies an entire apartment. Stefano welcomes us at the scheduled time of arrival, giving us the house and room keys. The whole B&B consists of three rooms and my friends and I occupy it all. There are three double bedrooms, one with private bathroom with access from the bedroom, while the other two also have a private bathroom but with access from the entrance.
Services
In each room we find TV, air conditioning, a basket with the necessary to make coffee.
The necessary for breakfast is placed in the common kitchen, where there are biscuits, rusks, a cake, fruit juices, milk, tea and the machine with pods for coffee. In the morning we can have breakfast on our own, we are only asked to tidy up the kitchen, as we had found it.
From the kitchen there is also access to a large terrace where, in the summer, you can eat or simply stay in peace.
The tranquility of the B&B Villa Adriana
The tranquility is the strength of the B&B: for its position, all on internal roads, for the absence of disturbing noises from the neighbors, I spent two nights sleeping very well.
As for other problems, for example where to park the car with which we reached Tivoli, it was possible to do so in the adjacent streets, safely and without problems of place. The B&B Villa Adriana is located near the Villa, which can be reached on foot.
Other low cost tips
Near the B&B there are also some restaurants for dinner: I can recommend you Dar Bottarolo, various courses of Roman cuisine at a fixed price (all inclusive); Natural Pizza, a pizzeria for families where in addition to pizza you can also taste typical fried foods (supplì, ascolane olives ...) all these places are within walking distance of your B&B, without having to go up to the old city, where parking can be problematic.
Instead, for the "cultural" part, consider a minimum budget. The places are so beautiful they will be money well spent! However, I remind you that on the first Sunday of the month the state sites are free, so both Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este. The exhibitions set up at the Macera Civic Museum, dedicated to the traditional processing of travertine, the stone of which this territory is rich.
