Overtaking it is a really very beautiful and very glamorous place a Rome in the Prati area. If you don't like loud noises while dining, you can't stand too many people nearby or you don't want to meet some VIPs at the next table this is not the place for you. If, on the other hand, you want to try a place that is interesting starting from the decor and tasty in terms of food and cocktails, then you must try it.
Eating at Sorpasso means book at least 4/5 days before, especially on weekends especially if you want the table outside. Honestly, at the table outside I recommend the table inside, there is less comings and goings of people passing on the sidewalk than from the hour ofappetizer it is literally packed with people and a lot less mess of spots and mopeds.
There are two good things here, i cocktail and the food: D Seriously, the cocktails are fantastic, a menu dedicated only to this with willingness to fulfill special requests. You can wait for the table by ordering a cocktail at the counter, here the crowded rule always applies, so you will probably stay outside in the street drinking the cocktail and not inside until your table is free.
The menu is varied and in addition to the "classic" there is always a leaflet with the dishes of the day. Prices are a little above average, starters are on 6/7/8 but even 10 €, the desserts are 5/6 € even if perhaps for Rome the price is quite average. The cocktails instead are all 8/10 € so this will drive up your dinner in case you decide to take one.
Overall, if you want to spend a romantic evening this is the right place, the lights at dinner time are dim and the wine helps to pass a pleasant evening, there is no intimacy of a candlelit dinner even at because of so many, maybe too many people, but the food is really delicious.
