It is perhaps one of the most beautiful historical re-enactments I have ever participated in. I advise you to write down the dates of the 27 and 28 July next and leave for Piandimeleto, a small village in Montefeltro, in the province of Pesaro Urbino, a few kilometers from Carpegna. In fact, the new 2013 edition of Palio dei Conti Oliva, a very important and fascinating historical re-enactment.
The whole medieval village of Piandimeleto is involved and inside you will find yourself catapulted to the end of the 1400s, a historical moment of maximum splendor of the Lordship of the Oliva Counts where Charles I was a friend of Lorenzo Dè Medici and Federico da Montefeltro.
Each street will be occupied by figures in period costume who will actually live there, such as craftsmen, stonecutters, then falconers, archers, apothecaries, charmers. There will be historical processions and of course gastronomic spaces where you can satiate yourself. The fortress is beautiful, from which the fireworks display is guaranteed every year. Watch out to find a nice place in the square in front of the castle as it is the main place for the historical procession and the main shows. If the weekend is as good as we hope, there will be no shortage of tourists.
