A few days ago it happened to me, after some time, that I had to go to Milan. I should have moved in the day and the ticket from my house to there since TreNord was born has risen by several euros, so I looked for some more information about an elusive promotion I had heard about and which I had read about in some cryptic (and microscopic) posters.
The discovery was absolutely positive: I travel In Lombardy offers really affordable rates for whoever it should be en route within the region or even for those who use trains and public transport daily basis. You can buy tickets and passes with which to freely use almost all rail and public transport (buses, subways, trams, etc.) with no kilometer limits.
For example: I would have spent € 17 for the train to Milan round trip + € 4.50 for a day ticket for public transport, but with IoViaggio I paid only 15 € and I was able to use trains, subways and buses as many times as I wanted.
Interesting for i tourists it can be the rates for one, two, three and seven days (among other things, only the one-week one is nominal) that cost from € 15 to € 40. At this point I would propose to make a sort of inter-rail of Lombardy.
Also worth mentioning are the promotions IoFamily trip, which allow you to have discounts for the purchase of season tickets for several children and to travel free with an adult for children under 14. ITrain travelCity instead it gives the possibility, to those who use train and public transport in one of the Lombard cities on a daily basis, to take advantage of very affordable rates having two season tickets in one.
All these tickets and passes can be purchased in train station ticket offices, in the automatic vending machines of TreNord and ATM and in the main retail outlets of transport companies.
