Small town in the province of Frosinone, quiet, livable as they say. It doesn't have one of those spectacular historic centers that attract tourists from all over the world, but it's one of a kind. It is one of the few cases in the world, if not the only one probably, of cities with two waterfalls in the center! Yes, you got it right.
One, the smallest, can be seen directly from via Roma, the main street, a few steps from the central Piazza XX Settembre. The largest waterfall, with the greatest jump, on the other hand, can be admired from a side street adjacent to the same square and is right next to the Boncompagni-Viscogliosi Castle, ancient residence of the dukes of Sora, unfortunately no longer open to visitors. You may be wondering how a waterfall can stay within a country, well you must know that the Liri river at a certain point of its journey forks into two branches which embrace the first urban nucleus from which the whole city then developed. . These two branches then come together and at the point of union of their waters give rise to the two waterfalls described above. This explains the mystery that makes this town on the water, in the water, in the middle of the water so special.
I went from there to lunchtime, hungry, and I stopped for a pizza at Restaurant / Pizzeria "La Corsara". Small, intimate but very central, in front of Piazza XX Settembre and with a view not only on the square, but also on the Liri river. Highly recommended white pizza with potatoes and fresh sausage; price of 7 euros. It can be done!
