Sesto Fiorentino, outskirts of Firenze but with a history, not a dormitory area but a small city with its traditions, monuments, manufactories (Richard Ginori porcelain has always been made here). And indeed there Richard Ginori it has created an entire industry of porcelain, so much so that Sesto is one of the Tuscan cities of ceramics; the factory also has a company shop, to buy classic pieces at a reduced price, and a very interesting museum www.museodidoccia.it
In truth Sesto is not very popular with tourists, but you can sleep there as an alternative to Florence and then reach the city by bus or train.
My report concerns a nice place right in the center of Sesto, in Piazza IV Novembre near the elegant Via Cavallotti and the Municipality. Is called the Artist Bistrot: the style is that of places from beyond the Alps, wooden floors, boiserie on the walls, iron tables and colored chairs. As for the dishes, great attention in the choice of ingredients, seasonal vegetables cooked in imaginative creations: flans, toast, first courses of the Italian tradition revisited - such as cannelloni with eggplant.
The desserts, the all-dark chocolate cake or the American-style cheese cake are also very good. The restaurant is also suitable for afternoon visits with herbal teas, assortment of teas and board games that guests can freely take. The most captivating formula is theaperitif for 6 euros, with many and abundant tastings of all the gastronomic proposals of the day, the drinks are well cared for, the non-alcoholic ones with fresh fruit at will.
