Eating in Pistoia it is not difficult: the city offers numerous proposals for all tastes and budgets. This time I tried the Bottegaia, in via del Lastrone, a stone's throw from the Duomo and Hall Square.
The restaurant is well furnished and as soon as you enter you understand that the wine is the master: walls covered with bottles of all kinds. Given the beautiful evening, however, we dined outside and immediately the waiters were quick and kind. The menu offers dishes from the Tuscan cuisine of meat and fish, sometimes revisited. As an appetizer I took a porcini mushroom pie, which I recommend: really delicious!
The meat is also cooked very well and all dishes are served with attention to every detail. Also for drinking we turned to local traditions, with a quart of Prunidea, a red table wine from Quarrata, a few kilometers from Pistoia. One of the best restaurants in the city.
