The Ladder it was a very pleasant discovery. In center of Trastevere, but right in the center, you will find this little restaurant that does not book. You get there, you queue, in case you eat out if it's not too cold or you go back if it's too full. The place inside is not very big and the seats are a bit crowded. Will there be at least 30/40 covered seats, many waiters and the dishes that arrive rather quickly?
The beauty of this place ?! That you eat a lot and Roman for only 15 € indeed, € 14! Yes, because there is also a tourist menu that I usually don't take but which in this case could be really interesting. The tourist menu includes a tomato bruschetta, a first course, a second course and a dessert, drinks not included.
The dishes cost very little, fried foods start at 2 to a maximum of 3 euros: fried cod, supplì, courgette flowers. Bruschetta also has a low cost. In addition, the pizza is only € 4, certainly the margherita, but we are in Trastevere not in the Roman suburbs. The buns for example, white pizza to be clear even if it is not exactly that, comes only 2 € with raw ham instead 4 €.
We were 4 and we took a mountain of things: 2 portions of courgette flowers, 2 portions of fried cod, 3 bruschetta with tomato, an amatriciana, a carbonara, an artichoke, a portion of tripe, a plate of scamorza and ham, saltimbocca alla romana, 2 focaccia and finally a sweet. All with a liter of house red wine and a bottle of water, the bill? Exactly € 15 per person :) I highly recommend it.
