Only by chance last weekend I came across, in a remote calle of Venezia, in the advertising poster of this exhibition: "MANET. Return to Venice". The event is one of those to be marked on the calendar, the exhibition promises to retrace the painter's origins and youthful inspirations, in particular by focusing on Italian influences.
The focus on the relationship with our country creates here the opportunity to bring together some of the paintings by Manet most beautiful and exciting, including the "Olympia" and "Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe". Alongside the artist's masterpieces, those he was inspired by for his personal production will be exhibited, such as Titian's “Venus of Urbino” and other exceptional works inspired by the Venetian sixteenth century, with names such as Tintoretto and Lotto.
The exhibition is the result of a special collaboration with the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, and will propose about eighty paintings, drawings and engravings.
The exhibition will open its doors on 24 April, ending on September 1st and will be located inside the Doge's Palace (Piazza San Marco) in Venice. The ticket price is 13 € for the whole and € 11 reduced, with even lower prices for schools and other specific cases. It will be open every day from 9 to 19 (until 20 on Fridays and Saturdays).
