Are you a lover of the French Riviera but don't want to spend a fortune? Here are some low cost tips for your trip to Nice.
This year I wanted to see the sea, immerse myself in the waves and breathe the iodine on my skin; so passport in hand I chose to book a ticket for Nice, France.
Stay in the apartment
It was a fabulous stay; I used the airbnb platform for the first time and I must say that it works great; at Marie France I found hospitality, cleanliness and a house that was very reminiscent of my grandparents' furniture!
The house that welcomed me deserves a special note: a petite Vietnamese lady told me a little about her life and why she had decided to dedicate herself to hosting tourists from all over the world: for the pleasure of discovery, like Ulysses , his words. I strongly wanted to open up and confront the world. With me then, he had found bread for his teeth.
I traveled with easyJet at 30 Eur per ticket and I paid 65 per night; the city airport is just ten minutes by bus from the center and satisfies the needs of international tourism without any problems!
In Nice we speak French and Italian… English is not preferred: they understand you, but they always answer you in French. Don't try other languages that get offended!
Among the things I preferred there is definitely the heavenly of the French Riviera; if you believe in the strength of colors and natural landscapes, the sea of Nice will enchant you.
Clean, rocky and strangely warm, this pearl of the Francophone world will make you dream so much that you will come back at least one more time in your life.
The fountains of Piazza Massena
Among the characteristic squares that I got to see there is, without a doubt, “Piazza Massena”: in this sublime place there are majestic fountains that help children to cool off during the summer heat; in addition, five meters away, the tram passes, which runs around the perimeter of the entire historic area in about twenty minutes. It is nothing short of stunning!
Italian restaurants in Nice
There is also something negative: the Italian restaurants, which are the majority, are expensive: a first course can go up to 36 Eur and not to mention the second courses, based exclusively on fish, which are around 50/60. I don't recommend going to Mc Donald's, but keep in mind that they charge you for eating… almost as much as a Cartier!
I easily found all the cult places in the city and often sat in the small characteristic kiosks on the "Promenade des Anglais”, To read the newspapers and the fate of our beautiful country: both the US press, such as The New York Times, and the Italian press such as La Repubblica and Corriere della Sera, easily reach Nice.
What to do in Nice after dinner
Among the most suggestive things that I recommend to all adventure lovers and young explorers is: counting the stars, in little prince mode, after XNUMX pm; pack a small bag with some snacks and some water and join all the foreign tourists who flock to the beaches after dinner.
It is not about discos or loud music: we all gather together on the sand; with the help of the towel you can lie down comfortably and then look at the stars without light pollution. You will really feel like you are on another planet!
