Sleeping in Reggio Emilia as in Provence, we are with NonnAnna, with Mr. Enrico and Mrs. Paola, read our review of the place after having slept in this house and book now.
Sooner or later everyone makes a stop in Reggio Emilia, you want it to be geometrically located in the center of the Po valley and northern Italy, you want it to be an active city full of events and initiatives of all kinds. In view of these excellent pretexts, I suggest you a place to sleep and feel pampered more than in your own home. I am sure that, even for you, it will be impossible not to become attached to the NonnAnna B&B and its owners: Mr. Enrico and Ms Paola.
Grandmother, say it as a seven-year-old girl would do with a thin and joyful voice, returning from school. Imagine her running inside the house with enthusiasm and with all the energy in her body, turning curiously to her grandmother, ready to be fascinated and captivated by tales and delicious activities, those of NonnAnna!
This house is still like this: the tales, today, they flow freely thanks to Paola who inherited them over the years and, now, is in total sharing of her everything with the guests of the B&B. Open and hot with the right moderation as only the people of the Emilian land he knows how to be, he will accompany you to your room illustrating the photos hanging on the walls and giving stories of the butchers family, the Bergomi, who already owned this villa of the early twentieth century and brought it to life.
The transformation of the first floor into a B&B was technically done, but its added value derives from the fact that it remains first of all a house where affection and good feelings are in every room, memories shine through the objects, history has its own space of continuous re-enactment, passion and beauty they are communicated through details, care and love float in the air.
At the entrance, still in the courtyard in front of the double staircase leading to the rooms, a clothes hangers he holds up an elegant hat and finds perfect placement next to a trunk and surrounded by ivy, as if one had already entered the villa somehow. The outdoor garden is a real surprise: we are in the heart of Reggio Emilia and yet there is still space for the wisteria, the artichoke flowers, the climbing plants, the trellis barsò, the wrought iron chairs, the old table, the flower beds, the porch set up as an outdoor dining room and available to guests ... this is where the Bergomi spouses serve breakfast .
Away from the main road you easily forget you are in the city and you feel it transported to Provence, the sweet air, the privacy, the soft colors, the quality foods and the ever-present fine nature create a dream environment, poetic inspiration and true relaxation.
If going up the stairs of the house you reach the hallway that leads to the rooms, where we tried to preserve as much of the family past making it suitable for modern times, it is by descending the stairs that a new, rich and fascinating world opens up.
La kitchen it has been relocated to the environment that was once used for the butcher's shop; is a place full of warmth, of signs of the passage of guests who usually leave a memory on the register (almost a diary to open the heart) of the B&B, of memories from the world that in this house finds true hospitality, with flavors of the Emilian tradition. It is here that in winter breakfasts and dinners are held in the company of the owners who can further express their self in the kitchen. It is always here that in the summer you can take refuge for a little coolness and a chat.
In 'lobby preceding it, a series of museum objects are shown in all their emotional and historical value, they are perceived strongly imbued with past stories and are brought back to life by the stories of Mrs. Paola who knows anecdotes and applications in the daily life of once. The radio that broadcast Radio London at the time of the Second World War is a unique piece; the old turntable with cable radio had been able to anticipate the times and the manual slicer, fire red, branded Berkel which allowed tastings of local cured meats to thousands of people are only three of the unique pieces of the entire collection.
Put all this in a weekend and you will have found lightness, close new human relationships, you will have relaxed and you will have known a reenergizing and full of life place.
