A month of events for the review On the thread of discourse held in Olbia, Sardinia from 10 July to 2 August. The event is free and open to all those who love Sardinia, even through books.
During the summer the center of Olbia comes alive with multiple events for all tastes. Its narrow streets - where you can find ancient inscriptions scratched into the stones - welcome artists, folk groups, musicians and poets who entertain tourists and locals with various kinds of entertainment that aim at strengthening and spreading the Sardinian culture and ... " continent ”as they say here! The Corso of Olbia is a granite paved avenue that is closed to traffic in the evening, thus allowing you to stroll peacefully among the buildings and verandas of the premises that have tables directly on the promenade. From the main avenue there are several alleys and squares: for example that of the Simpliciana Library where it is not uncommon for cultural or musical events to be organized.
Now in its second edition, the Literary Review "On the thread of speech" it will begin on 10 July 2014 from 21.00 pm in the square of the Simpliciana Library in Corso Umberto.
For ten evenings it will be possible to attend for free the presentation of as many books with the presence of the authors, accompanied by musicians or readers of poems who at intervals will entice the public.
On July 10, the prime time, spectators will see Vanessa Roggeri as protagonists with "The wild heart of the juniper”(Editrice Garzanti) with musical interventions by Gabriele Masala. Do not miss the appointment on July 16 that will see Daria Bignardi as an interpreter with her opera "Perfect acoustics" with musical accompaniment by Giuseppe Fadda. On July 18, however, for the curious and nostalgic of a bygone era, Marella Giovannelli will illustrate the history of Porto Rotondo with the photo book "Contemporary moments". Personally collected photos that tell the transition from Poltu Ridundu to Porto Rotondo as we knew it in the golden years. On July 24 it will be Giovanni Floris's turn with his book "Bonetti's border". The exhibition will close its doors on 2 August. The final evening will be dedicated to poetry, with the inaugural stage of Poetry 2014. The event will have Sardinia as a theme and its charm. The charm of traveling in a region through the writing, poetry and culture of an area where there is much more than tourism.
Getting to the event from out of town it is not difficult. For those who have a navigator, set Molo Brin as the destination. The pier has hundreds of free parking spaces at all hours of the day. If you have problems finding parking, there are other small open spaces near the aforementioned pier where you can park. From Molo Brin, cross the small gardens in front of the town hall (a liberty-style building painted in yellow) and continue along the main street. The small square where the evenings of the review will be held remains on the right going up, just two hundred meters from the parking lots. Other car parks (always free) are present in Via Papandrea and Via Nanni, equally distant from the city center.
