If by any chance you are a Venezia and look for a place to go and have a nice lunch avoid absolutely the Osteria ai Canottieri. It is located a little secluded, in the San Giobbe area (Cannaregio 690) but close enough to the train station.
I happened to go there a few days ago with my university mates because there was no place elsewhere in the area and there was room for everyone (eh I believe it !!). The restaurant is large enough for the Venetian canons, in fact it has two rooms, theappearance is a bit sloppy and with no particular attention to the aesthetic side. The owner, after having made us sit, "declaimed" the dishes of the day, I, like many others, chose a Pasta alla Busara. What then was brought to us by the waitress, a little awkward, was a plate of macaroni (but not spaghetti alla Busara usually ??) stews and that they unraveled just looking at them with tomatoes and three (no more, no less) microscopic shrimps certainly coming from the freezer. Another detail that left everyone a little doubtful was the basket with the prepackaged sachets of Parmigiano Reggiano.
I conclude by reiterating that if you are in the area ... turn around! Instead, try a few doors back Give to Marisa, there they say everything is truly exceptional.
2015 Update.
The Osteria ai Canottieri has been closed and has changed management.
