I have no children and I am not celiac, that would make me the worst candidate to review a place like Matiss. However, the fact is that not only children like to play and not only those who are intolerant to gluten can eat gluten-free dishes. So, with three grandchildren and a fairly hungry I went, together with Gluten Free Roads App to try this restaurant in Rimini.
Matiss is found a few steps from the state road, I tell you because if you find yourself at the highway exit of Rimini south it is only 5 minutes from the exit. Knowing how difficult it is to find good gluten-free restaurants and pizzerias that have the right price, I share it with pleasure.
The place is very large, also suitable for hosting two elementary school classes for end-of-year dinners, even if the waiters would be delighted, as well as a communion, a baptism and a couple of birthdays. On Saturday evenings the two floors of the restaurant they are fully occupied.
A room inside the room comes used in winter with games, including a foosball table, to give parents some rest and let the children go without worries. In summer, on the other hand, there is an open area, but always very controlled, where the little ones can let loose.
I like everything about the club, I have to be honest. The pizzas are very good, the gluten-free ones too, the variety is remarkable and there is no shortage on the menu first and second courses of fish and meat. But if I can recommend the pizza and the wraps are the best. It is also possible to order pizza and wraps and then take them home, even gluten-free ones, without the fear of contamination in the case of a "multiple" order.
Il staff is kind and knows how to do his job, there are never delays in delivering pizzas to the table or takeaway and, as icing on the cake, there is a great variety of beers, even Italian to spend an evening with all the trimmings. Matiss is a good solution to eat well both for those who are intolerant to gluten and for those who tolerate it, so as to be all together at the same table sharing the pleasures of food and piadina.
My advice is to always book on Saturday evening, on the other days of the week, the place is less crowded.
