A Naples few things are more famous than pizza and that's what I'm going to talk about today. The pizza, the one par excellence. The one that made history and continues to keep it alive thanks above all to the prestige and notoriety of Gino Sorbillo and its pizzeria with a single location in via dei Tribunali, in the historic center.
Reaching it is very simple. If you arrive by car, just get to via Foria, park in one of the several private car parks along the road near the National Archaeological Museum and go down along via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli which leads to piazza Bellini. Crossing the square and turning left, we will be flooded with sweet melodies coming from the many windows of the conservatory of San Pietro a Maiella and, after less than 100 m, we will arrive at Piazza Miraglia. No sooner said than done, left again and we're up via dei Tribunali. Another 50 m and the historic pizzeria is on our right. We will certainly recognize it from the melting pot of people waiting in front of the door to be able to enter, but do not worry! the service is quick and efficient and the seats always vacate very quickly.
I care emphasize at this point, next to Gino Sorbillo's pizzeria, there is another pizzeria which is also called Sorbillo, but it is not the original. But, following the path I have indicated, you cannot go wrong: our pizzeria is the first we will meet. In case we get distracted, it would be enough to read the sign of the place looking for the name of our pizza chef: Gino Sorbillo. At this point we enter, give our name to the waiter and wait for him to call us. Once we are seated, Heaven opens up to us.
Many varieties of pizza, from the classic to the more particular, make it really difficult to choose just one thing. If you don't want to go to the more typical Margherita, which is really good, you can try one of its specialties: the pizza with pesto. What to say? A pleasure!
The prices are those of every other pizzeria in the area, despite his fame, Gino Sorbillo loves to run the economy by keeping affordable prices and within everyone's reach.
