Sant'Agata de 'Goti, in Benevento, is a very nice village with a clean historic center, full of churches and pleasant to visit. Sant'Agata de 'Goti, however, is also a destination for culinary tourism, thanks to the numerous catering facilities which, with their typical and genuine products, know how to attract people even from far away.
I tested, for you and especially for my taste buds, the restaurant / pizzeria / farmhouse "La cantina dei briganti" which, located in via Parco, 3 on the slopes of ducal castle, absolutely did not disappoint my expectations. Indeed ... I must say that it went far beyond the desired!
Very nice in the furnishings, with the chairs in wood and straw like those on which our grandmothers used to sit during their youth, it is clean and cared for in detail. It boasts a very rich wine list for all tastes.
The quality of the products used is very high. The meats and cheeses are excellent and accompanied by honey and an exquisite onion jam that must be tasted.
La Florentine steak it is exceptional. If you are not satisfied with the doneness, they will bring you a plate on which you can finish cooking your meat. Meat that you can flavor to your liking with one of the four types of salt at your disposal, for example the pink one of the Himalayas or the blue of Persia.
The mixed grilled meat is also good, although I personally did not like the lamb.
The sweets, homemade or taken in a pastry shop in the country, they are very good. Among all, I recommend the crunchy parfait covered with hot chocolate that combines with cream ice cream, pieces of caramel crunchy and an exquisite hot chocolate cream with hazelnuts.
