What I propose here is a journey that is nothing short of incredible. It is a journey through time and space. A full immersion between the architectural art of Luigi Vanvitelli and the photographic art of Robert Doisneau. A walk through the alleys and bistros of last century Paris and the Bourbon royal apartments of the Royal Palace of Caserta three centuries ago.
Well, from 24 May to 23 September 2013, the Palace of Caserta will host in the royal rooms the photographic exhibition dedicated to Robert Doisneau and his beloved Paris. Two hundred original photographs taken between 1934 and 1991, in rigorous black and white, will allow you to take possession of stolen moments, of barely hinted emotions, of everyday life that overflows from every pixel. If you want, you can buy the book Robert Doisneau-Paris en liberté published by Fratelli Alinari Foundation, hardcover, at the price of 50,00 euros. All set in the Bourbon luxury of the silks of San Leucio, the very fine porcelain, the still well-preserved stuccos, the eighteenth-century furnishings and the paintings on permanent display there.
You can also choose, before or after seeing the exhibition, to stroll in the park of the Reggia, along the avenue adorned with pools and fountains that reaches the waterfall and perhaps continue your tour among the various species of plants that overlook the green alleys of the English gardens.
An artistic combination that is worth not missing.
