How many pizzerias are there in Rome? I could tell you an infinity, but there are very few pizzerias that in my opinion are up to making a product that can be called "PIZZA".
For this reason I want to recommend what I think are the best 5 pizzerias in the city.
- River Port: it is one of the best pizzerias in Rome. A large shed of over 900sqm dedicated entirely to culinary pleasure and divided into distinct areas where there is an always very crowded pizzeria. It may be for its fresh and young atmosphere or for the slightly English style, but at the weekend it is always difficult to find a free table. So if you want to spend a weekend evening here, book well in advance. It is a pizzeria located in the Ostiense district of Rome, here the pizza is served in the Roman version, low and crunchy, or in the Neapolitan version, high and soft. For me it is the apotheosis of pizza, I have never eaten so good, it will be the organic flour, the leavening of over 72 hours or the skill of the pizza makers, but I highly recommend it. Exceptional are the appetizers such as fried and bruschetta not to mention the beer. Here is mainly served the artisan type and the variants, despite the high price, are really special.
Address: Via del Porto Fluviale, 22 - Rome
- From Nero: is located in the historic center of Rome and exactly in a side street of Piazza Trilussa, evening meeting of many young people. It is a really small and very spartan pizzeria the menu has a great variety starting from the classic pizza margherita to the more elaborate Seneca pizza with broccoli and sausage all rigorously cooked in a wood oven, but also panzerotti, calzoni and specialties of the kitchen Neapolitan. The price is very affordable given the quality of the food and the location where the pizzeria is located. Inside the room there is a window that is opened in the summer months, making the environment cool and allowing customers to eat under the stars of Rome.
Address: Via del Moro, 43 - Rome
- Dar Poeta: frequented by Romans and tourists, this Roman pizzeria is located near Trastevere. A small outdoor area open in summer and a not very large room, but with the spartan air of an old trattoria will surely make you fall in love at first sight or not at the first taste. The pizza here is strictly wood-fired, which should not be underestimated, while the bruschetta and desserts are really inviting.
Address: Vicolo del Bologna, 45 - Rome
- Pizzarium: this pizzeria is located in the Prati district of Rome a few steps from the Cipro metro station. Here you can eat pizza standing or leaning on the counter shelves, but there is also a take away service. Pizzarium is in fact the classic Roman-style pizzeria, but of the highest quality. From the classic margherita to pizzas with refined ingredients such as courgette flowers, mint and Bagoss, artichokes and Gorgonzola, from Roman broccoli, sausage and caciocavallo to gricia, here you can put anything on the pizza.
Address: Via della Meloria, 43 - Rome
- Li Rioni: certainly a very original location, a few steps from the Colosseum. Once inside you will be catapulted into a small village with real streets, balconies full of flowers that will make you be amazed, like pizza on the other hand. Here there is only one variant of thin pizza and a bit small compared to the standards of the others, but very good.
Address: Via dei Santi Quattro, 24 - Rome
