Recommended by the owners of the B&B I decided to try a centrally located café / pastry shop in Rovereto, in the pretty piazza Cesare Battisti. The place is called The cafeteria and it is very busy, especially with locals. It offers some lovely outdoor tables in front of the fountain. The interior is on two floors, on the first a large room with a Central European flavor, with windows overlooking the square.
Already at the entrance, the desserts showcase is inviting, lots of greedy pastries, a pleasant scent of coffee beans. In fact, La Caffetteria is a sale of Bontadi coffee (from 1790, says the name) which can be ground on the spot, as in roasting.
I had a quick lunch, served at a well-set table. The card features sandwiches (the bread is home made) stuffed with various flavors, also vegetarians, very generous salads and some hot dishes. In the room on the first floor there is also a showcase of pastry desserts, which embarrasses you: what to choose between the apple strudel, the cheese cake (or Käsekuchen, German version) with fruit, the Sachertorte?
The coffee blend on the menu can be selected from those of Bontadi, and the teas are also very varied. For a quick lunch they spend it between 8 and 10 euros. Newspapers available to customers.
