I recently went to Salerno for its fabulous lights, better known as "Artist lights”And I must say that the city has been in turmoil for months thanks to this event which starts in November and ends in January of each year.
In any case, I had already been to this beautiful city just a few steps from Amalfi Coast, strategic point for any trips in this wonderful corner of Campania, with a huge historic center and a very long promenade, which is why I recommend everyone to visit it even just for a trip out of town.
In my recent stay, in the company of friends, I chose a b & b in the historic center to enjoy the city and its light installations as well as the wonderful local cuisine. The structure I selected is called Salerno Historical Center.
It is located, as the name implies, in Via Fusandola n. 9, right at the beginning of the restricted traffic area and is a real apartment in a residential building. Our apartment consisted of two rooms, both with three beds, two double and a comfortable single bed, kitchen inside one of the two bedrooms and a bathroom.
In addition, the apartment has two balconies and all the comforts needed for a pleasant stay.
Points in favor are definitely the position, a few steps from the Villa Comunale of Salerno, where many of the most famous light installations are found. But I must say that I also really appreciated the cleanliness and comfort of the spacious apartment, as well as the kindness of the owner.
Very useful free wifi connection and very convenient price, even though it was the first and very crowded weekend of the year.
For those arriving by car it is possible to leave the car nearby, being right at the entrance to the limited traffic area, or alternatively you can take advantage of one of the garage present in the area.
Furthermore, since there is a kitchen it is possible to prepare yourself there breakfast or actual meals, but there are various bars nearby where you can have breakfast.
