Scaturchio, eat the sfogliatelle in Naples

That a city hits the heart is what we hope for every visit. That you can see the real heart, however, is not always so obvious, although we wish it as well.

Naples offers it to us, without preclusions. It opens to the tourist as it is shown to its inhabitants, intact with its character, without any filter.

Naples is not a shy city, you know, but its extreme openness is surprising and allows us to have it as a gift just as it is.
It's unique culture of its kind, it is sounds that can only be found in its narrow streets, it is the cries of the sellers like in no other city now, it is the scents of takeaway folding pizzas and freshly baked desserts, it is obviously Neapolitan music, it is street theater, is fantasy of the Street vendors, it is the most rural metropolis that exists, it is a whirlwind of colors, it is a cultural offer, it is history and present, it is the joy of the people, it is - in one word: overwhelming.

And even more beautiful is the ease with which you can immerse yourself in this unique kaleidoscope in the world, letting yourself be harmoniously involved. It is, in fact, sufficient to follow the historical route par excellence: the Spaccanapoli and not limit yourself to it, but to go into its side streets, exceptionally divided into themes. Descending from the Vomero hill towards the center, past the church of Gesù Nuovo and the Monastery of Santa Chiara (from whose cloister you can access some excavations of the old city), you will find the way of musical instruments, the way of booksellers, the street of the cribs, the square of the literaries, and then all kinds of shops up to the second half of the ancient Decumano where you can have a well-deserved rest stop: which here we can only call a sfogliatella break!

In Piazza San Domenico Maggiore there is the pastry-ice cream parlor Scaturchio. 5-star Sfogliatella, strictly assigned by true Neapolitans. Where do you eat it? In the street! After all we are in Naples and enjoying it in the midst of passers-by, sounds, colors, songs (remember ?!) is a must!

Once you have absorbed the spirit of the city, if you still have time, you can move to Piazza del Plebiscito, visit the Palazzo della Regione, the Maschio Angioino, the Umberto I Gallery, the San Carlo Theater and the Augusteo Theater, but this is another stage: the second, please!
