The Summer Jamboree is the event dedicated to American music and culture of the 40s and 50s. All events take place between the city center and the beach of the Marche city.
For the past fifteen years on the velvet beach of the Adriatic coast, people from all over the world have been meeting to relive the atmosphere of theAmerica of the XNUMXs and XNUMXs.
As for fifteen years now, the municipality of Senigallia promotes, in collaboration with the homonymous Cultural Association, the Summer Jamboree, an international music festival dedicated to music and American culture of the 40s and 50s. The festival, which is the most famous of its kind in Europe, attracts tourists from all over the world, who show up for the appeal sporting detailed pin-up looks and fire-red hooded vintage cars. Between beach parties, vintage markets and burlesque shows, the spirit that reigns in the Marche town is a step back in time to the rhythm of swing and rock'n'roll!
During the Summer Jamboree the whole city is celebrating, not only on the stage, where the best groups in the history of rock and roll, but above all among the public, which gives life to the glamorous dream of the forties and fifties making Senigallia a timeless city. Walking through the historic center or the seafront, you will feel like you have returned to another era, among parades of vintage cars, Boogie Woogie, Cajun and Tex Mex diners, Hawaiian shirts and rotating skirts.
And if you arrived unprovided, vintage markets are set up along via Carducci and in the park surrounding the Rocca Roveresca, where you can buy the necessary items to recreate a complete vintage look. Clothes, accessories and stands with hairdressers and make-up artists, and for the more daring it is even possible to get a real tattoo fifties in Greg Gregory's Travel Ink mobile studio.
Among the most awaited evenings of the Summer Jamboree, there is certainly the night dedicated to burlesque, which at each edition sees internationally renowned show girls perform for a hot and absolutely unforgettable evening. And among the notes of the American vintage atmosphere, the numerous concerts that every year fill the squares of the Adriatic town and see perform the artists who have written the history of rockabilly music. During the last edition of the festival, Senigallia gave voice to names such as Big Sandy, probably the most loved by fans of the genre; Tommy Hunt, longtime member of The Flamingos; Stray Cats' longtime drummer Slim Jim Phantom; and also bands like The Jolly Rockers', the Belli of Waikiki, the Ray Collins Hot Club, and The Good Fellas.
Just in a festival punctuated to the rhythm of music, beach parties and dance floors can certainly not be missing on which you can let loose at all ages. Many young people come from all over Italy and not only to participate in the renowned event Hawaiian Party on the beach. And to dance there is really plenty of choice! If you love to go wild under the sun, there are the djs at Mascalzone on Lungomare Alighieri; in the gardens of the Rocca Roveresca, experienced (and not) dancers light up the dances from the early afternoon with jive and boogie woogie lessons; and certainly the most exclusive location should not be forgotten, the famous rotunda overlooking the sea that opens to dance every night.
