One of the best things to indulge in is to pack your suitcase and spend a weekend away. Living in for a couple of years Veneto and not knowing how long I will stay there, I promised myself to take advantage of every possible opportunity to discover this region, so rich in ever-changing and extremely rich landscapes. That's why a weekend at the end of summer I decided to give myself a couple of days in Peschiera del Garda staying inHotel Bella Italia.
Peschiera del Garda
The town, small and welcoming, overlooks south of Lake Garda and during the summer it can be a good diversion from the sea, which is too often super crowded. Immersed in nature and history, Peschiera del Garda has the typical charm and medieval of the Italian villages, where time seems to have stopped.
The lake winds through the historic center of the town, enclosed within the old walls. I assure you that it is a suggestive place. The city gates seem to tell distant stories and the bridges offer breathtaking views, all to be photographed. I unexpectedly found a very small village in Peschiera del Garda picturesque (as I have seen few in the areas where I live). Accustomed to tourists, it is full of restaurants overlooking the lake, of small clubs where live music is played, but also of shops and events.
Hotel Bella Italia, Peschiera del Garda
After searching the hotels in the area, I decided to stay at theHotel Bella Italia, a structure located just outside the town, whose center can still be reached on foot very easily, walking along the lake (which, especially in the evening, enchanted me) for about a quarter of an hour to twenty minutes. The hotel is inside a large camping surrounded by greenery and full of services (restaurants and bars, supermarket, swimming pools, shops, wellness area, shows, etc.), all fully available to hotel guests, even after check-out time.
I'm not a camping lover, but what I saw at Camping Bella Italia it made my firm opinion waver not a little. The hotel rooms are very basic, but clean, quiet and equipped with a sensational view: from our terrace, for example, you could see the lake and mountains as far as the eye could see.
Structure
The whole facility is exceptional. In total it has several swimming pools, a water park, a couple of restaurants and bars, souvenir shops and a supermarket. A doctor, kids' club, water sports, whirlpool, bike rental, excursions. In short: the more you have, the more you put. I believe that for all this offer of services it is a perfect structure especially for a family who wants to spend their holidays in peace, deciding calmly in the morning what to do, without planning the days too much.
Lake view weekend
From the hotel you can directly access the lake, inhabited by swans and ducks, where you can swim. For me, who am used to the sea, it was a strange feeling bathe in the lake, only to raise my eyes and find myself surrounded by mountains.
I truly believe that Peschiera del Garda is the ideal place to spend a relaxing weekend, to disconnect from the frenzy of everyday life and immerse yourself in a luxuriant nature.
