The review of the b & b Al 25 in Viterbo. A very economical and very comfortable structure not far from the historic center of the city of Lazio.
Viterbo, in the center of Tuscia, is a city with a beautiful historic center. Some monuments are very famous, such as the Palazzo dei Papi which surrounds the Piazza del Duomo in an extremely elegant way; it was the papal presence in the 13th century that made this free municipality a center of political and artistically relevant power.
La medieval structure of the city, made up of various villages or neighborhoods, you still "read" very well in San Pellegrino, an area of the center where it literally seems to go back through the centuries. The city is not very big and can be visited well in a weekend. In addition to art, the city offers thermal waters, well known and called not by chance Baths of Papi.
Whatever the reason for your stay in Viterbo, art or the spa, you will need some advice on where to sleep. Recently in my weekend in Viterbo I stayed in a very comfortable B&B called At the 25.
It is located at no. 25 of Strada Santa Barbara, an area on the outskirts of the city but already in the countryside, well indicated because it is home to many sports facilities. Being a little out of town the only aspect that I feel I do not recommend is to arrive here without a car because otherwise you will not be able to move easily towards the center or towards the Spa. By car, however, these destinations can be reached in a few minutes.
Al 25 it comes with a large gate that leads into a garden with a villa surrounded by olive trees. On the first floor of the house there are the three rooms of the bed and breakfast. I had a separate room located in an attic including a small kitchen area that made us completely independent. A practically self catering formula, with everything needed to have breakfast at the guest's disposal, a small refrigerator, a small oven to heat up, a coffee machine.
The other rooms I saw were joined in the use of a large common kitchen. On the weekend of my stay the weather was bad, cold and rainy, but in the summer thelarge garden gives space for guests to use the outdoor green spaces.
If you have reservations about the bed and breakfast because you don't like going into other people's homes, this is the place to be. The entrance is completely separate from the house and the owners are also discreet and leave complete freedom; the car can be parked under the room and reaching Viterbo is very quick as already said.
The bed and breakfast has very low prices, during the high season I paid 50 euros per night with breakfast.
