Two weeks in early spring, from 29 March to 13 April, to discover the surroundings of Milan and start and be outdoors, after the dullness of the Lombard winter.
The name of the event is SUPERMILANO and takes place in the north-west area of the capital involving as many as 16 neighboring municipalities that will open their doors to young and old for meetings, shows and moments of socializing and conviviality.
The agenda is very dense and includes several manifestations and events of various kinds: from tastings, to art routes, to space for children up to nature trails.
I cultural tours will range from the visit to Lainate of Villa Visconti Borromeo Litta, famous for its beautiful water features, to the discovery of the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie, up to the historic villas of Paderno Dugnano, Arese, Bollate, with an interest also in modernity by proposing an itinerary between the Rho-Pero Fair and the Sempione Park. The monuments open to the public are truly many, some of which are little known but equally rich in history and art, testifying to a past among churches, noble palaces and farmhouses.
Many meetings dedicated to gastronomy and oenology: in Cornaredo there will be the sale of typical products, the organic lunch in the farmhouse in Vanzago, the chocolate tasting in the square in Paderno Dugnano, in Senago a party dedicated to the knowledge of foods from all over the world, including globality and localism, knowledge of our territory and of what is far from us. In Arese on 5 and 6 April there will be the NaturBio Festival at Villa La Valera, with organic products, entertainment, children's entertainment, sports, folk dances and a great desire for nature and a healthy life. And then still many tastings: risottos, the bread festival, the tasting of fresh milk on the farm and the sale of zero km products, in a sustainable and attentive perspective, as well as to health, to the environment.
Ai children theatrical performances, judo championships for the disabled, gastronomic workshops to discover local products, workshops in the vegetable garden, fairy tales and in Senago an exhibition market of children's books are dedicated. With walks in the countryside, children will be able to oxygenate themselves after many winter days confined to closed places, discovering nature and animals. Many appointments and meetings for moments of leisure lived calmly and quietly in natural and healthy environments. In Lainate, the IDEA campaign (hygiene, diet, food education) is organized by the Italian Red Cross to raise awareness even of the little ones towards a healthy and adequate lifestyle to prevent diseases and health problems.
And then many nature trails, cycling tours, a visit to the WWF Oasis of Caloggio in the municipality of Bollate, paths between canals, fountains, streams, the Villoresi canal and the typical lakes of the area. In Lainate it will be possible to experience the art of yarn bombing, a new form of street art that uses wool threads to decorate urban elements, trees and objects, with imagination and creativity. There are also itineraries immersed in the nature of the Groane Park or in the urban parks of the cities that organize these events and that offer the opportunity to discover landscapes, hidden corners, art, culture and traditions.
All strictly low cost since most of the events are free.
