At the last minute, in the true sense of the word, we chose Genoa as the goal of this bridge of All Saints just spent. Believe me, more last minute than this you die so much so that at the height of Bologna a hotel finally replies that it has a small free apartment.
Yes, we decided to leave anyway, convinced that we would still find accommodation at whatever cost. We spent a whole morning on the web between offers (if we want to call them that ...) and the most clicked websites to find accommodation in the center of Genoa that didn't pluck us, but it was all full, including the multi-starred structures.
Failed the attempt with at least forty phone calls, we leave anyway at 12 and after about fifty minutes the owners of the Chopin hotel call us to confirm availability.
It is the first time that I go to Genoa for two nights, so far they have only been touched and work flight. Once under the hotel, the first difficult task is to find a parking space. I find it right in front of the entrance, blue lines, but 1 is a party so you don't pay. The problem was the following day, Saturday, where I spent the beauty of from 8 to 20 27,50 EUR. I know at least two sheds nearby, but I needed to find it near the hotel also for the baby's stroller and counting that the next day was still a holiday, I was fine. The payment at the hotel is in advance, so I read from the signs behind the reception.
It is a two-star structure, inside a very old building that sees the first stones laid in 1200, so they tell me. They have already started the internal renovation of some rooms and already from the same website of the hotel you can see some rooms. However, it is a decent hotel and it met my need to be a stone's throw from the center and from theGenova's aquarium. The accommodation was then on the top floor (with lift) and I enjoyed the view of the whole city and the old port. I guarantee you that waking up early in the morning and seeing the port as it began its activity again and watching the slow docking of the huge cruise ships made a certain effect.
The furniture in my apartment was from the Eighties, simple, but still comfortable and perfect for the needs of those who are in Genoa to stay out all day, having the convenience of returning as and when you want.
Breakfast was not included in the price, but for us they made an exception, otherwise I would have spent 5 euros more per person. The hotel is in the area of the humanities faculties of the University of Genoa and is attached to the Genova Principe railway station. I would say strategic, also because from the station square it was possible to take buses to different destinations.
