There are so many initiatives in Campania and in the rest of Italy, during these eight days of# Invasionidigitali, some also, unfortunately, at the same time. In any case, that initiatives from below that focus on our cultural heritage are welcome, among the first reasons why tourists come here in Italy.
Participation in the invasion of the Paleochristian Baptistery of S. Maria Maggiore, in Nocera Superiore, in the province of Salerno, on Sunday 21 April, he made us discover thanks to the #invasionidigitali, and to Filippo Petti who led us there, a remarkable and little valued place.
In the province of Salerno and Cilento there has been a lot of activity in organizing these mini-events promoting culture from below through social media.
Il 28 April, Sunday, will be "invaded" (peacefully, of course) the Velia Archaeological Park.
A few kilometers from the Cilento coast, Velia, is the ancient city of Elea, which was founded around 540 BC and was frequented by Parmenides and Zeno, founders of the Eleatic philosophical school. In Roman times the name from Elea was changed to Velia and in the Middle Ages the Castle was built, from the top of which it is possible to see the whole Cilento coast.
Adriano Olivetti also fell in love with the ancient city and in his honor he wanted the generation of Olivetti supercomputers developed in the 50s to be called Elea.
The full entrance ticket is 3,00€, while the reduced is € 1,50.
The digital invasion in Velia is an opportunity to show the beauty of the Archaeological Park, so close to vacation spots, yet still with enormous unexpressed potential. This is the link of the invasion: http://veliamo.eventbrite.it/.
