Make up on the go: aloe vs humidity. THE'humidity it is one of the factors that sometimes makes choosing the right cosmetic products a bit problematic. This factor makes the choice even more difficult when we undertake a journey and consequently we will face sudden changes in temperature, not only due to the place we are in but also due to the air conditioning of the plane, shops, museums etc. where, on the contrary, the degree of humidity decreases a lot, even drastically.
A what types of products therefore, it is good trust in these circumstances? Hydration, protection and lightness are the keywords. We need products that not only protect against shocks and extremes, but also ensure a certain level of hydration. Comfort is also necessary: products that do not feel on the skin and therefore do not constitute a too thick layer that we inevitably feel as heavy, increasing sweating and literally dissolving makeup.
A product that guarantees all these functions (and many others) is the aloe vera gel. Numerous companies have proposed it over the years and it is easily available on the market at a reasonable cost.
Aloe gel is indicated for skin protection and makeup duration. Here are the steps I recommend for a light and protective but also lasting summer base!
- you can add one to your moisturizer drop of aloe gel, in this way you will better prepare your face for make-up, as the gel acts as a sort of primer, increasing the duration of the application.
- Before moving on to the actual makeup, I recommend one light dusting of face powder (for combination skin a powder containing clay is more suitable, for dry skin it is better the rice powder which mattifies but keeps the skin more hydrated) because it will allow your mineral base to spread more easily.
- to even out the complexion, apply a mineral foundation, because there is no lighter and more breathable foundation than this! Its only flaw is its duration, but compensate for this with step 1. I advise you to use as many powder products as possible for make-up and to limit everything that is creamy and liquid to a minimum, because in this way you will not have to worry about hand luggage (airlines usually allow a maximum of 1l of liquid products in total).
On all the various packages of aloe gel on the market, you will find the indication of the purity of the product in percentage: I recommend a 95% minimum. The aloe vera gel has a semi-liquid consistency which of course you have to take into account for the maximum allowed in hand luggage, however it offers us a series of functions for which we would need many other products, so in proportion it is a lot convenient and ergonomic.
