For those planning a trip to Milan, or even just decided to discover the city for a day, you can buy a card to get around for free on all means of transport and have discounts in museums, restaurants, tours, shops and exhibitions.
There are two versions, one for 24 hours al cost of 6,50 € and a 3-day ticket for € 13.
There are several important places where the card entitles you to discounts: the Pinacoteca di Brera, one of the most important national art galleries in which works from different historical periods and masterpieces of inestimable value are exhibited, the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana rich in Renaissance and 600th-century Lombard works, the Codex Atlanticus, the largest and most important collection in the world of drawings and writings by Leonardo da Vinci, the Bramante Sacristy in the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, a Renaissance church of great architectural interest and which preserves, in the refectory, the Leonardo's Last Supper, visible on a discounted tour with the Milan Card.
The other museums included in the circuit are: the Poldi Pezzoli, a collection of paintings, ceramics, jewels, books and much more, the Triennale Museo del design, where exhibitions, events and conferences dedicated to modern art, architecture, photography and contemporary design are hosted, and then the National Museum of Science and Technology, the largest technical-scientific museum in Italy in which 30 models of machines designed by Leonardo are preserved, where there is a vast exhibition of means of transport, in particular locomotives and historic wagons and where the Toti submarine, the one who in order to transport it to Milan had had to close roads and had had to study night itineraries because its dimensions far exceeded the norm.
Lovers of classical and opera music may be interested in visiting the La Scala Theater Museum which houses a collection of instruments, portraits, clothes and documents of the authors and performers who have passed through one of our "national monuments" and which still today represents one of the most important examples of Italian style.
Also in the center it is possible to have a discount on the terraces of the Duomo from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city and the golden “Madonnina”, the symbol of the Milanese city.
For sports lovers it is possible to get a discount also at San Siro Museum in which the relics of the two city teams are kept: Inter and Milan.
