From 7 November 2013 it will be possible to visit the Milan Cathedral Museum with a new and rich set-up.
The museum is located on the ground floor of Royal Palace, next to the Duomo, and will be a must for those who want to understand and learn about the rich and complex history of the cathedral and its works of art.
The museum houses various collections: wooden models of the cathedral, precious tapestries, paintings, Renaissance and nineteenth-century stained glass windows, a collection of statues that recount six centuries of work around the cathedral; finally the treasure, with liturgical objects in gold, silver, precious stones and ivory, pieces of rare beauty, such as the Ariberto's Cross, which restore the splendor and splendor of the Cathedral.
The path winds in dirty 27, with 13 thematic areas and over 2000 square meters of exhibition, retracing the most ancient origins of the Christian history of the city, starting from the Baptistery of San Giovanni alle Fonti: according to tradition, Sant'Agostino was baptized in these waters by the hand of Sant'Ambrogio .
Il entrance fee is 6 euros for the full rate, 4 for reduced rates. It is possible to book guided tours or rent an audio guide.
