It seemed like an experiment destined not to have a sequel and instead it is now the fourth Christmas and Verona hosts the Christkindlmarkt (Christmas Market) of Nuremberg, so much so that it can now be considered a fixed stop on the calendar of city holidays.
Appointment therefore from November 22 at 23 December 2013 in piazza dei Signori (what the locals call piazza Dante). For the occasion, bars and restaurants will give up their outdoor tables to make way for traditional wooden houses so common in the markets of the north, but really unusual for our squares. Here you can buy typical German handicrafts, but also enjoy various gastronomic specialties, as well as the inevitable mulled wine. The past years, tourists and not only, seemed to appreciate this corner of Germany temporarily moved here, in fact there were many people who, in the cold December evenings, made an appointment to eat excellent food Nuremberg sausages served with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes washed down with the renowned beer.
The lights of the houses, the scents of foreign foods, the cold, and maybe the snow… for one evening it really seems to be in a square in northern Europe. You want to experience the real atmosphere of Christmas markets? Going against the trend with organized trips, why not take a trip to Verona, you will not be disappointed!
