A Verona the places to have an aperitif are multiplying, especially in the city center, where, however, many places have a more tourist vocation than aimed at the Veronese.
In Borgo Rome, not far from the church of S. Teresa, in an area not very touristy, if not slightly reflected by the nearby fair, La Meridiana is proposed as a reference place as a level wine bar but above all for its themed aperitifs.
I Thursday night, from 19 pm onwards, some themes are proposed that characterize the evening, accompanying a particular drink, wine or beer (or the inevitable spritz) with specialty dishes, cooked on the spot and available at buffet at the counter bar, where you can comfortably serve yourself on your plate and return to your table.
Some evenings have been studied on the basis of the location of the theme in question, such as Tyrolean evening, others on the basis of a particular "dish", as in the case of tigelle or pizza.
What unites both the dishes and the drinks served is definitely there quality and refinement of the same. The slightly higher price on drinks (more on spritz than wine and beer, which tend to stay in line with the general price list) is amply justified by the quantity and above all quality of the dishes that can be tasted at will.
It could certainly be worthwhile even for a tourist to leave the clubs in the center for an evening and take a tour of the Sundial, to immerse yourself in a typically Veronese aperitif with the Veronese.
