Villa Pisani, the most beautiful garden in Italy in Stra, Venice

A Stra, Venezia, but not far from the center of Padua, is this architectural marvel that it is Villa Pisani. The beautiful villa and its park are one of the finest examples of an eighteenth-century Venetian villa in the area. Today the National Museum, the villa can be visited all year round and allows you to admire the rooms on the main floor of the house, made even more spectacular by the original paintings and furnishings, among which the ballroom, theNapoleonic apartment and the dining room.

As the visit proceeds, we realize that we are following the same path that many years ago noble characters such as Charles IV of Spain, Tsar Alexander I, and Napoleon Bonaparte, just to name a few. Loving the ancient villas I can say that it is really a pleasure to be able to admire such a well-preserved historic residence, walking through its rooms and admiring its splendor really seems to be catapulted into another era.

The best part though comes with the visit to the park: a magnificent 11-hectare garden that truly leaves you speechless. With great attention to every detail, he even won the title of Most beautiful park in Italy in 2008. Inside it is possible to go up the splendid spiral staircase of the eighteenth-century exedra to be able to admire the villa from above, make a stop at the Coffee House, a place of refreshment in the past hot summer days, stroll in the nineteenth-century grove.

The leading role, however, belongs to maze. Designed in the 1720s, this wonderful and fun box hedge path has as its purpose, or reward, the turret that towers at its center. Going up the two splendid spiral staircases that embrace it you reach the top, from where you can really appreciate the complex structure and from where you can have fun observing the attempts of other visitors or if you are magnanimous, direct them on the right path. Fun is guaranteed and I assure you that the narrow boxwood streets will give even the most prepared a hard time!

Info: the villa can be visited all year round, closed on Mondays, while the labyrinth is only open from April to October. Villa and Park entrances € 7,50, Park only € 4,50.
