Shoes, polka dot dresses, high-waisted jeans, leather jackets, loud music. In Salsomaggiore from 2 to 6 July the Beat Festival is staged, four days of concerts, vintage markets, dj sets and pool parties. It is not only the celebration of the fantastic period of the 60s, but it is the meeting place for all those who grew up in that era and who still love to try the same emotions again today, at least for a few days.
The Beat Festival was born in 1993 in Castel S.Giovanni (PC), from an idea of Attilio Fellegara drummer of two bands who decided to organize an event that brings back the music of the 60s, in the middle of the 90s, when disco music reigned supreme.
In 1997 he arrived in Salsomaggiore, where he immediately found the perfect setting: wide tree-lined avenues, old discos, hotels and the good life. Salsomaggiore still reigns that refined and elegant atmosphere that goes well in contrast with the sound beat.
Over the course of the editions, bands from every country in the world followed one another, recognized internationally. This year's edition, the XXII to be exact, starts on July 2 at 18.30 pm at the Mad Café with DJ sets, concert and drive in, then continues with a live and twist show and concerts all night. Friday 4 July there will be the presentation of the book "surf play", on 5 and 6 July the Vanitas Market will take place, a traveling event in different parts of Italy, dedicated to recycling and artisan creativity in fashion. And then again concerts, twist competitions, aperitifs, pool parties and barbecues enrich the wide program of the four days of celebration, to share this incredible atmosphere with everyone. Today the Beat Festival arouses interest not only as a musical event, but also dedicated to fashion, in short, the place to celebrate one's style, creativity and artistic flair.
Salsomaggiore Terme is located halfway between the provinces of Parma and Piacenza, located in an extremely suggestive hilly environment. In addition to the prestigious Palazzo delle Terme, the city's botanical gardens, the tree-lined avenues, in its surroundings there are numerous ancient villages that are certainly worth a visit, such as Vigoleno (Pc), one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Tabiano too with its thermal baths and with the medieval castle, Pellegrino Parmense, Bore and Varsi to get a first taste of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Without forgetting the beautiful Stirone park, where there are several paths, areas equipped for picnics, places where you can do bird watching.
Obviously there will be several promotions, for those who want to participate in the festival, first of all the voucher with 20% discount from 2 to 6 July on the Mari d'Oriente spa treatment and on the Aria Acqua path and 10 euros discount on the purchase of body products at the Salsomaggiore and Tabiano Spas.
