The owner of the restaurant comes from Tokyo and will charm you with her kindness and the care with which she will devote herself to preparing your order. You will feel pampered and while you wait you can relax in a welcoming and informal atmosphere.
The splendid kitchen is open to view. The details of the place are elegant and refined: if you have already visited Tokyo, you will be a huge nostalgia. If you want to go to Japan, then this place will offer you an authentic taste of the food that awaits you in the capital of the Rising Sun.
What are the Donburi
But let's start from the basics. What kind of dish is Donburi?
It is a typical dish of Japanese cuisine, it is a bowl of fish, meat, vegetables (there are many variations) served on a rice base.
The first time I tasted great Donburi Karaage, based on fried chicken: highly recommended!
Tokyo's Matsurika is the only place in Turin that specializes in Donburi. It is a quick dish to prepare and very nutritious. You can take it home or decide to savor it while sitting in the room. Matsurika of Tokyo in fact it was born mainly as a take away, but it is also possible to sit down and taste dishes cooked on the spot.
Another very famous Donburi worth mentioning is the Katsudon: the typical breaded and fried pork cutlet (il Tonkatsu), onion and egg on hot white rice. Really mouth-watering!
Not only Donburi
Tokyo's Matsurika menu is rich and varied. Besides the Donburi, you can taste: Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki, Gyoza and the real Miso Soup!
There is no shortage of Japanese sweets that were previously practically impossible to find in Italy.
From the classic Matcha Tayaki ice cream: the typical Japanese fish-shaped dessert.
If you want to accompany your meal with a typical drink, I recommend the green tea: excellent, purifying and strictly sugar-free (I could drink it by the liter).
Of course, beers are also on the menu: like the classic Asahi or Sapporo.
And if even on the drink side, you are willing to try something new for us Italians, you could order one Ramune: Japanese non-alcoholic carbonated drink, which has a particular opening, seeing is believing!
The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, from Monday to Saturday, with these hours: 12:00 - 15:00, 18:30 - 22:00.
All lovers of Japan will be very happy to see that Tokyo's Matsurika, in addition to carrying the Donburi in Turin, was able to transmit and keep intact that typical and precious atmosphere that otherwise we could only breathe in Tokyo.
