Running is one of the best activities to do for sports, but at the same time to save money. Here are five routes to run in Rome admiring the beauties of the capital.
September is the month of good intentions, the month in which physical activity is restarted between fitness sessions and a run. Rome is the ideal place for passionate runners who can choose different locations from villas to city parks to sports facilities such as that of the Farnesina or the Stadio delle Terme di Caracalla in which it is possible to access upon membership or annual subscription.
Alternatively, for lovers of the outdoors today I recommend 5 routes to run in Rome.
1. Park of the Aqueducts: a path about 6 km long surrounded by greenery, but devoid of shaded areas. It is located inside the Appia Antica park, in the south of Rome, taking a run here is unparalleled. It is an ideal route for those who love greenery and want to admire architectural remains dating back to Imperial Rome and to the Renaissance as a Felice aqueduct.
2. Villa Ada: this is a beautiful one in the northern part of Rome. Here there are several routes of varying length and difficulty located around a small lake and the surrounding area for a total of about 3km.
3. Along the Tiber: for those who want to enjoy the historic center of Rome, I recommend a ride along the banks of the Tiber. From the road, just go down to the river and follow the same route outlined by the cycle path that starts from San Paolo and reaches the Olympic Stadium. It is an ideal route for runners who love urban landscapes.
4. Villa Pamphili: one of the most famous and largest villas in Rome which extends along hectares of meadows and pristine greenery. The path for runners here extends for about 6km offering, in addition to the fantastic panorama, various services such as a jogging area and equipment for physical activity and a guarded room with toilets and showers for a fee.
5. Park of Santa Maria della Pietà: it is located in the north of Rome along the Via Trionfale. This is now considered the temple of Roman runners, but it once housed a city asylum. The path inside it extends for over 2km with various slopes and the presence of many shaded areas and fountains.
