The place I'm talking about today is located near a Molise village, Colle d'Anchise, quite the same as many others. At the foot of the village flows one of the most beautiful rivers in the region, the Biferno: in this section an interesting river park has been planted with meadows dotted with large trees where you can spend a nice day in the countryside, near the river.
Right here there is a well-kept, elegant farmhouse that respects tradition: the Plain of the Mills. In ancient times, the complex of four buildings in white stone used a dam of the river and its canalization, to grind; in more recent times the power of water had been used to create a hydroelectric power station.
After a period of neglect the completely restored buildings have turned into a farmhouse and a high-level restaurant, above all, I speak of the restaurant, in the choice of products that are both typical and excellent at the same time that give life to an extremely inviting menu.
Everything is taken care of, from the combination of flavors, to the presentation of food, to the wine list. The service is polite and precise, the patron looks out, shakes your hand and asks how you are.
The room where we ate was architecturally very beautiful, obtained respecting the original composition of the building. In Molise I ate well everywhere, but here the atmosphere is different, I could call it a touch of class but without arrogance.
The prices are a little higher than the regional average, but it still remains on figures, just over 20 euros for a superb dinner, unthinkable in other parts of Italy.
Il stay in the rooms I haven't tried it, but from what I've seen it must be equally enjoyable.
A place out of this world for calm, serenity, accuracy and even elegance.
