Body Worlds in Bologna: the exhibition of “Dr. death"

Body Worlds in Bologna: the exhibition of “Dr. death

Much discussed and requested, the Body Worlds exhibition, visited by over 37 million people in over 80 cities around the world, after being in California, Canada and the United States, it returns to Italy, after having already been presented in Milan, Naples and Rome.

The 4th Italian stage will take place in Bologna, that from 6 November, will host the exhibition of the German doctor and scientist Gunther von Hagens "Body World" in the spaces of the Ex Gam in Piazza della Costituzione.

An exhibition that attracts a lot of controversy, as it is an exhibition that gives the opportunity to see the human body up close in all its completeness, showing real human bodies preserved thanks to the plastination technique devised by the doctor and scientist German, which allows you to preserve and be able to see and study tissues, organs, muscles, joints and so on.

The only negative I have to point out is about the impossibility of taking pictures, even without a flash. The use of mobile phones or cameras is strictly prohibited. In fact, every single room of the exhibition is overseen by special personnel.

The idea of seeing real human bodies can give chills and horror to many people, but having been to the Rome exhibition in 2012 I can guarantee you that it is very interesting, informative and not at all impressive. In Rome, I can testify about the presence of numerous middle school groups and several families with small children who were really fascinated.
In addition to the vision of human bodies, of men, women (including pregnant) and children, you can look closely and notice the differences between healthy and unhealthy organs, lungs of a smoker and a non-smoker, the brain of a healthy person and a brain with pathologies and many many other interesting things.
In fact, the exhibition aims to educate visitors on the themes of health and well-being.

In each of its stages, the Body Worlds exhibition always adds something new: in fact, in Bologna a section will be added on motherhood and the origin of life.
Body Worlds is based on a body donation program carried out by the German Institute for Plastination which has over 13.000 registered donors of which 9 are Italian.

I prices of the exhibition vary according to the place where it is exhibited; in Rome the ticket for an adult cost 16 euros and there were also various discounts for school groups, students and families.

I will definitely come back to see it in Bologna too, it is an appointment not to be missed because it is not certain that it will make a stop in Italy again. It is an opportunity to spend an educational day and why not visit the city of Bologna!
