Our review of the Pizzeria and Ristorante Da Biagio in Rimini that makes gluten-free pizza, crostini and wraps, for the people of Rimini but also for tourists who decide to stop here for a bite.
A Rimini there are not many places that offer gluten-free menu, indeed I would say that there are very few. Yet celiac disease is a disease that is becoming more and more common, not only in young people, and it is right that many more locals in a city that doubles its population in the summer, are organized to receive people who have this need.
Among the places I recently tried in the city and in the Province of Rimini, see the California Burger, there is also the Pizzeria Da Biagio. I have to be honest and I have to say that his position is not the best. Da Biagio is in fact in a somewhat unfortunate position, let me pass the word, compared to many other restaurants and clubs in the city center. Da Biagio is located at the end of via della Fiera, where once the Fiera Vecchia was located, while now the Palacongressi di Rimini is located.
Despite the location, we said, the place is very popular with locals who know where to eat a good piadina and a good pizza, but above all by those who want a gluten-free dish or pizza without obviously having any kind of problem. Like the restaurants that make "gluten-free", Biagio is also a member of theItalian Celiac Association and has the ability to prepare certain types of dishes because it respects the limits and imposed requirements, one of which is the use of the double kitchen to prepare dishes with and without gluten - which is no small feat, I would add.
But what do you eat at Da Biagio? No special effects, no dishes with impronunceable names, as in most of the times, when you eat well it is because you eat simple foods prepared with fresh and natural ingredients. So it is at Biagio who prepares pizzas, main courses, first courses and even burgers, nothing more. The restaurant is a pizzeria, with an exposed wood oven and a very fast and organized kitchen.
In addition to the restaurant where there are about fifty seats, Biagio gives the possibility to order by phone and go to pick up pizza and even wraps with and without gluten. The prices are not high and remain in the average of the Rimini pizzerias, even if gluten-free pizza and piadina are a little more expensive than pizza and piadina that contain gluten, but this happens in all the places that carry out the double service.
For dinners and birthdays it is possible to go to Da Biagio dinner by booking in advance of course and with the possibility of bringing your own cake, also in this case gluten-free without the fear of it being contaminated in the kitchen. A decidedly hospitable place that offers to the people of Rimini, but also to tourists who come to the city in the summer, a place without too many pretensions but with excellent food.
